Mandaté par Carson Welch, un riche entrepreneur ambitieux, Brian Gilcrest, un ex-militaire américain qui a été grièvement blessé en Afghanistan, revient à Hawaï pour négocier avec les instances locales et les dirigeants spirituels de l'île le lancement secret d'un satellite. C'est alors qu'il retrouve Tracy Woodside, son amour de jeunesse marié à un pilote avec qui elle a eu deux enfants. Parallèlement, on assigne à Brian un officier de liaison, jeune blonde ambitieuse et très imprégnée de culture hawaïenne. Contre toute attente, il tombe sous son charme.

    Looks like it could be pretty good. I just have a hard time accepting villain films without the hero. Maybe cause it’s cause I’ve never really seen a good one. Maybe not. Maybe there is a REASON there is never been a good one. I hope I’m dead wrong. We’ll see. I just feel like the Villain needs the hero just as much as the Hero needs the Villain. To me they seem to go hand in hand."
